guritom.com is now socmedia.com.my :)

so many sabahan website not maintain or fail to survive long.
i do not know why.. last time sumandak.com with a lot of member. it is quite
active until after several time being change or upgraded etc. it lost. and
now the site finally down.

after sumandak.com, i know www.guritom.com, a lot of member. but it suffer the
same fate. it is not down (maybe).. but the upgrading part take several month..
and now, completely inaccesable..

wish bayau.com do follow the same fate. gud luck..

because????? disebabkan ketidakterbukaan atau ketidak sediaan tuan punya forum utk membincangkan isu-isu semasa.. saya dapat kategorikan bahawa terdapat forum yg memang sistem terbuka terhadap isu-isu yg di berlaku di luar sana.. manakala ada web yg tidak atau belum sanggup atau tiada keberanian membenarkan ahli-ahli forum utk membincangkan isu2 tertentu.

tiada silapnya sebab ini semua di buat dgn suka2 dan hanya sebagai hobi..so tak apalah....just like that lah..

not only because of that.. i think.. some of them just know how to install,
but do not really know how it works..

oh i see. what is the reason you abandoned the domain name guritom.com sunsuron?
you took away sabahan identity. i see it doesn't exists on socmedia.com.my anymore

I have questioned myself about it... hrm...
I believe it will not take away Sabahan identity. Why? Because it is powered by Sabahan. If we live by the spirit (Sabahan values) and not by the name, the identity is still there don't you agree? Socmedia is a big commitment not only for myself as an individual but a community as a whole.

i am sorry for saying this sinsuron. but i am agree with paragasu. i do not see
any "powered by sabahan" on the socmedia website. it is nothing wrong with that.
i think socmedia is the company you are working on but the website is not belong
to you. the website belong to someone else i think :). whois record prove that.

actually, i do not see why you have to discontinue the guritom dot com website.
the word guritom is so unique. i think only kadazandusun have that word. that is
an identity. since i do not see anything very hard maintaining guritom dot com
(it use opensource scripts). you can just let it online.

i work so hard developing bayau dot com just to live up some sabahan identity
in it. i wrote every part of it, it seems stupid to wrote everything include
the parser, i even develop a small framework just for it. and now, it proven..
i cannot keep up maintaining the code anymore.

i told you one thing. even it is so hard, i won't let it go. it is not as famous
as guritom do, but somehow it still bring some pride to me. (the fact is it is
not optimized and still buggy hahaha). but, i feel so sayang because after years
you build small network. you just let it go.

please don't mad at what i said. i just a bit sentimental seeing sabahan website
gone. you do nothing wrong :)

Hehe, well said mr admin. As a programmer, we tend to get attached to our codes. I am not sure if this is good or bad. Anyhow, a few comments.

1. socmedia is not where I work. It's a new recording company own by Sabahan fellow producing kadazandusun/murut cd/vcd. I am working in a small IT company situated around Petaling Jaya. I am giving my services to socmedia free and without charges what so ever simply because I believe giving is the right thing to do. :)

2. guritom was using IP.Board and Coppermine so it's not entirely open source or free software. This is also true with socmedia.

3. guritom.com was pioneered not from its meaning 'dark color/black color' but based on a memorial monument situated at my own kampung sunsuron tambunan which the local gave it a name 'guritom' after the civil war long time ago. The monument was made of real skulls and concretes.

4. I started guritom.com during my second year at Multimedia University (2003), Cyberjaya as part of a course assessment or rather an assignment requirement.

I think that pretty much of it. I appreciate for all the concerns. I fully support local web community and will continue to do so. I still have much to learn. Rest assured, things has not ended, but just begun...

that mean guritom dot com never change domain name to socmedia. socmedia is not
guritom and guritom is not socmedia.

another story of guritom dot com. 2 days ago, i went to mount kinabalu. :)
my friend suddenly come to me, he said

"ada bah orang di luar sana banyakkk tatu, tiba2 pi tegur saya ni.
saya tidak tau oo siapa. dia cakap

"ko si kurt_issac bah kan?.saya bah yang di guritom bah"

guritom and member still recognize each other even guritom already gone few
month ago :p ..
